Andrea Giardino has been involved in many of the Firm’s most significant extraordinary corporate finance transactions. He specializes in M&A, particularly with regard to acquisitions and disposals of shareholdings and businesses, leveraged buy-outs, private equity transactions, joint ventures, takeover bids and exchange offers. He also advises on real estate transactions.
He is the author of numerous publications on corporate law, with particular focus on group regulation and company direction and coordination. Andrea Giardino graduated with honours from the Università degli Studi di Pisa in 1994 and was admitted to the Italian Bar in 1997.
Prior to joining the Firm, he worked at some of the leading Italian law firms.
Michele has more than 20 years of experience in M&A transactions. His main clients include companies in the consumer goods, food and beverage and industrial sectors, as well as domestic and international corporates often owned by international PE investors. Among others, in the last year he advised: Blackstone in the disposal of its stake in Versace to Michael Kors, Investindustrial in the creation of Design Holding through the combination of Flos, B&B Italia and Louis Poulsen and Chequers and Igi in the disposal of Rollon to Timken.
Michele is also a contract professor since 2005 at the ESCP Europe University in Turin. He holds a BSc. in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan, and studied at the London School of Economics
One of the founding partners of Mandarin Capital Partners, an Italian private equity firm that began operating at the end of 2007, Lorenzo Stanca boasts about 30 years of experience in high profile financial institutions.
He was previously Head of Operational Strategies at Sanpaolo Imi Group (now Intesa Sanpaolo). Prior to this, and up to May 2005, he spent many years at Unicredit Group, where he has been Head of Economic Research and subsequently Head of Fixed Income and Forex Markets at Unicredit Banca Mobiliare, the investment banking arm of UniCredit Group of which he was one of the founders.
Lorenzo Stanca is author of various papers and co-author of books on various subjects in the field of economics and finance. He has been from 2001 to 2004 and from 2006 to 2010 chairman of the Italian Business Economists Association. He is a member of Scientific Committee of Osservatorio Asia, an Italian Think Tank on Asian affairs.
He holds a degree in Economics from Bocconi University, where is has also lectured in various courses over the years.
Michele Semenzato, Managing Partner of Wise Equity, is one of the two founders of the company. Wise Equity has been investing in the Italian lower mid-market for the last 20-years, through 5 funds, the last of which was raised in July 2019 at the € 260 Million hard cap.
Besides leading several deals for Wise Equity, Michele is also responsible for the fundraising activity of the firm. Prior to founding Wise Equity, Michele has been a Manager at Bain and Company and an Executive Director at ABN Amro. He holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley and a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Padua.
At EIF since January 2009, Marco is heading the Lower Mid-Market team investing in equity, hybrid debt / equity and private debt funds across Europe, with a particular focus on the Northern, Eastern and Southern regions. He coordinates the Lower Mid-Market investment activity for several fund-of-funds initiatives, each one with specific geographical scope, (i.e. Turkey, Poland, Baltics, Central Europe, Italy, Portugal). He represents EIF on the Advisory Boards of over 20 funds. Prior to joining EIF in January 2009, he worked in direct investments as a senior Investment Manager at Innogest Capital, an Italian VC fund focused on early stage investments. Previous appointments include Project and Engagement Manager at Capgemini (2001 to 2004) and at Ernst & Young Consultants, where he started his career in 1998. Marco holds a M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Polytechnic of Turin (Italy).
Francesco Orsi is Managing Director for Eurazeo Capital which he joined in 2007 after having worked with KPMG in Milan for four years within the Audit team and then the Transaction Services Group. At Eurazeo Francesco has participated in the structuring or the oversight of the following investments: Accor, Moncler, Banca Leonardo, Intercos, Desigual, Planet, CPK (Carambar & Co) and DORC.
Francesco holds a degree in business administration from Bocconi University (Milan, Italy).
Eriprando’s practice focuses on financial services, fund formation and investment management, across a wide variety of industry sectors. His clients include cornerstone investors, alternative investment fund managers, funds initiators, banks, investment firms, and financial institutions. Eriprando is member of the tax and legal committee of the Italian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AIFI).
Raffaele Legnani is Managing Director of H.I.G. Capital and he heads up H.I.G.'s activities in Italy. Raffaele has been investing in the Italian private equity market since 1996. Prior to joining H.I.G., Raffaele was founding partner of Atlantis Partners in Milan, the leading independent institutional investment firm focused on Italian mid-size companies in Special Situations. Before that, Raffaele has successfully invested in a significant number of buyout transactions, both directly and through specialized international private equity funds serving as operating board member for several portfolio companies. Previously, Raffaele worked in investment banking for Goldman Sachs in London. Raffaele graduated with honours in Finance and Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan.
Eugenio de Blasio is the Founder and Major shareholder of the GreenArrow Capital group.

Raffaele is a Deal Partner in PwC since2006.
He is the Deals Strategy and Operations Leader in Italy.
He has wide and in depth experience in M&A transformational projects. He has worked with the main international PE Houses, multinational companies and a number of Family Business. His usual project role is to align with Client’s Shareholders and C-Suite and to orchestrate PwC’s multidisciplinary Teams in order to identify and deliver Value Creation opportunities.
He has been leading from 2011 to 2016 the Turnaround of Group Mauro Saviola , a 600M euro revenues Italian company multigeography and multi business (furnitures, panelboards,chemicals). During that period he was the CRO (Chief Restructuring Officer) ofthe company and a member of the Company’s Steering Committee.
Raffaele believes that the Value creation journey is a combination of clear strategic vision, deep analytical approach and strong data driven decision making.
He is graduated in Business from Bocconi University and acquired the PIM (Program of International management) diploma at Esade in Barcelona. He is Italian and French and he is fluent in English and Spanish.
Mr. Camera joined Bain Capital Private Equity in 2012. He is a Principal in the Technology Financial and Business Services vertical and a member of the European Private Equity team. Mr. Camera focuses on investments in the financial and technology sectors and on Italian investment opportunities. He is also a member of the European recruiting team.
Prior to joining Bain Capital Private Equity, Mr. Camera worked at J.P. Morgan in the TMT M&A/Advisory team. He also worked at the International Finance Corporation (World Bank) investing in debt and equity of TMT companies in emerging markets.
Paolo is currently the head of the Private Debt practice at Equita Capital SGR, managing Equita Private Debt Fund (EPD), a €100m fund focusing on providing unitranche and HoldCo PIK financing to Italian SME’s in the context of private equity transactions, and currently raising EPD II targeting €200m with an identical strategy and expected to reach first closing soon.
Prior to Equita, he has been a partner at BS Private Equity, one of the leading PE firms in Italy, where he managed a number of transactions involving Italian SME’s from 2001 until 2012.
Paolo started its career at Goldman Sachs in London in 1992, firstly in the Credit Department and then in the Leveraged Finance department, structuring leveraged loan facilities for Italian and French buy-outs.
Paolo has a degree cum laude in Economics from LUISS University in Rome and an MBA with honors from NYU-Stern
Mauro isa Partner and the Chief Investment Officer at Ambienta. He is among thepromoters of Ambienta and joined the firm in 2008. At Ambienta, he has beeninvolved in a number of transactions including Lakesight Technologies, IPC,Nactarome Group, Pibiplast, Tower Light, Envirogen, AICO and Energy Wave.Prior to Ambienta, Mauro spent seven years at SG Capital Europe, a pan-Europeanmid-market buyout fund and five years at Groupe Zodiac.
Eugenio Morpurgo is Chief Executive Officer and founding partner of Fineurop Soditic S.p.A., company of the Fineurop Group which focuses on M&A and debt advisory services. He is also a board member of Fineurop S.p.A., Fineurop Investment Opportunities S.p.A., and Chairman of Fineurop Partecipazioni S.p.A.
In 1984, Eugenio graduated cum laude from Bocconi University in Milan. Before joining Fineurop, he was Head of M&A and Privatisations at SOPAF, a private financial group listed on Milan Stock Exchange.
He started his career at the financial group Matuschka in Munich before moving to Deutsche Bank where he worked in the corporate finance and capital markets areas in London, Frankfurt and Milan.
Eugenio is Professor in Investment Banking (Academic Fellow) at Bocconi University in Milan.
He is Member of the Board of AIFI (Italian Association of Private Equity, Venture Capital and Private Debt), as well as Chairman of the M&A Commission of AIFI.
In Private Equity since 2000. In Alto Partners, Raffaele de Courten focuses on deal origination, debt structuring and relationships with investors, with significant expertise in debt financing and corporate lending. He has particular expertise in the services, consumer goods and industrial and commercial machinery sectors. Prior to joining Alto Partners, R. de Courten worked for the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg as the personal counsel to the Italian Executive VicePresident with responsibilities, in particular, for the assessment and development of investments in Private Equity and Venture Capital funds, and borrowing and lending operations in Italy. Prior to joining the EIB, R. de Courten worked for 11 years in the corporate finance department of Mediobanca in Milan, first on equity transactions and later in charge of the funding strategy of the bank on the debt capital markets as well as the organisation of debt operations for the bank’s clients. He was member of AIFI’s Board of Directors from 2010 to 2015 and Chairman of AIFI’s Mid Market Commission from 2013 to 2015. From 2005 to 2015 R. de Courten was Professor of Private Equity at the Postgraduate School of Economics and International Relations at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan. R. de Courten holds a degree in Business Administration from LUISS University in Rome.
Luca Bucelli joined Tikehau Capital in 2014 where he is currently Head of Italy. He opened the firm Milan office and started up the activities in the country performing 13 Private Debt transactions (Direct Lending and Leveraged Loans), 2 PE Real Estate investments, and fundraising from more than 50 institutional clients.
Prior to joining Tikehau, he worked for AlixPartners turnaround and restructuring practice in Paris and Milan, for Citigroup Alternative Investment fund of hedge funds in New York, and for Lehman Brothers Corporate Finance M&A in London and Milan.
Luca Bucelli holds an MBA with distinction from the New York University Stern School of Business and graduated in Business Management from the University of Florence.
Giorgio is Senior Managing Director at CVC and is based in Milan. Prior to joining CVC in 2005, he worked for over four years in the Mergers and Acquisitions team at Morgan Stanley. He is a member of the Board of Directors of DOC Generici, Sisal, Conceria Pasubio and Lecta. Giorgio holds an MSc in Nuclear Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano and an MSc in Industrial Engineering from the École Centrale de Paris.
In addition to managing Mergermarket’s global team of journalists, Giovanni’s responsibilities include seeking new growth areas, moderating and speaking at M&A events and hiring new talent. He also comments regularly about the markets on TV and gives academic lectures. Giovanni joined Mergermarket in 2001 and has held a number of positions within the company, including Frankfurt Bureau Chief, Italian Correspondent, telecommunications, leisure and media reporter and research analyst. He is based in London.
Denise joined Unquote in June 2016 to spearhead our GP and LP profiling effort. She now focusses predominantly on the secondaries market and features. She is a seasoned moderator at Acuris events and a regular Unquote podcast guest and interviewer. Prior to this, she spent almost nine years at Unquote’s sister publication Debtwire as Mid-Market Editor setting up the product in 2012 after five years covering leveraged loans and the restructuring market. Denise graduated from Edinburgh University with a degree in History and also has a master's from the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Greg Gille joined Unquote in 2010 as a reporter, initially focusing on the French private equity market. He was promoted to senior reporter and then news editor, before becoming deputy editor in 2013 and online editor a year later. He is currently editor, overseeing editorial content in print and online.
Greg graduated from Sciences Po Paris with a Master's degree in media management in 2009. He started his career in Paris before moving to London in 2010.
Emma-Victoria reports on M&A activity in the DACH region for Mergermarket. Previously she has worked for Bloomberg in Frankfurt, The Daily Telegraph in London, Deutsche Presse Agentur (dpa) in Berlin, and Falter Verlag in Vienna. She has a Masters in German Literature from Oxford University.
